Am I the only one that thinks that Slash is overrated because...?
He came off a Media glorified band (Gn'R) and because he is Bi-Racial (the media are suckers for bi-racial artists...Mariah Carey, Vin Diesel, Prince...)?
He's not that great like many die hard Gn'R fans claim he is. He can put out a few good riffs but that's about it. His timing when he plays lead is not good at all. I have heard him live and seen him on archives footage of live events and he is not a good lead player. He is a better rhythm player as is shown on the Michael Jackson song Black Or White, but he sucks as a lead player.

Hm? I'll still stand on my view that the media made him popular and not his abilities as a guitarists. Sorry, I'm not buying Slash as a good guitarists...nope.
Is like when AC/DC's Black In Black came out, all of a sudden Angus Young was voted as the best guitarist of the year...Angus is good, but not the best.
Mmm I disagree. I don't think he was focused on because of his race. I didn't even know he was mixed race until you mentioned it, and I have not heard any mention of it in the media. I think he was focused on because he is genuinely talented. Granted, he is not the greatest guitarist in the history of the universe, but he is pretty damn good, he's great to listen to, and he is a good lead player.
