Plans Carrier Will a smartphone work without a carrier?
I was thinking of getting a smartphone with stuff like Internet, mp3 player, movie player, camera, GPS, etc. I was wondering if a smartphone can function at all if it doesn't have a phone plan/carrier. Because if the plan is too expensive, I was thinking of just using it as a mp3 player/video player/all the other non-Internet/phone-using features.
Well, cellphones/smartphones typically work if it has a carrier. If there is not a carrier for it, then it won't be usable. You can still turn on the phone, but it will just not become usable.
