The Basics of RC Aeroplanes

Radio-controlled aeroplanes, often called RC planes, are model aeroplanes that are controlled remotely, usually with a hand held transmitter and a receiver within the plane. Flying RC planes as a hobby has grown in popularity worldwide, aided by technology updates, including more efficient motors, lighter and more powerful batteries and less expensive radio systems, all making flying RC Planes a more enjoyable and thrilling hobby. A wide variety of models and styles by different manufacturers are available to purchase.

While flying RC planes make look easy, it actually requires a lot of skill and can take years to master. For a beginner, looking to start flying planes, electric RC aeroplanes are the safest option, as they operate at lower speeds that gas powered planes, and their simpler models are more forgiving of mistakes.

For many enthusiasts, the thrill of RC planes lies in the actual construction of the plane before flying it for the first time. Others prefer Ready-To-Fly models that simply need to be taken out of the box. It all depends on how much time you have available and your model building skills.

For complete beginners, a model such as the Hobbyzone Mini Super Cub RTF is ideal as it is equipped with Hobbyzone’s Anti-Crash Technology, which ensures smooth and steady flying right from the start. The ACT technology constantly monitors the Mini Super Cub’s position, and if the plane should enter a dangerous dive, the software reacts quickly to prevent a crash whilst allowing you to retain control.
