   Thats pretty easy. its about the full retail price of what is possible with today’s tech.I know they can make a mid size 4 door sedan for $9550 full retail. You can go buy one at the nissan dealership right now I was just their a few months ago.figure if you remove EVERYTHING in the engine bay and I mean everything including fuel and exhaust systems etc.. computers control eveyrthing.thats EASILY 70-80% of the cost of that car but to be easy and fair lets say 50%thats about $4800 (all these prices are FULL RETAIL not cost!!)GM and Ovonics announced to great fan fair they could produce the NIMH E95 batteries over a decade ago for $4500 full retail.A decent electric motor is available off the shelf today for around $2000 same for the controller around $2000 and about $500 for the charger (nimh chargers are a lot simpler than lithium ion chargers which are very complicated and expensive on this scale)Do the math. 100% Full retail show room ticket MSRP $13,800 if they REALLY wanted too. No subsidies no rebates no anything else.Add in the $7500 government voucher and this is now a $6800 purchase or a monthly payment LESS THAN your currently spending in gasoline every month.would add about $150-$200 to your electric bill. PER YEAR. not per month.The E95 nimh battery is rated for and ACTUALLY CONFIRMED IN TESTING and Real Life usage to a lifespan of about 20-25 years for the average driver going 12,000 miles a year in the USthe EV1 got 160miles to a charge but is a bad example as its too extreme and only a 2 seater. a much better example is the Toyota RAV4EV using the same battery pack. 80-110miles to a charge and it was never designed to be electric it was just a gas rav4 converted to electric.these are actually still on the road some with over 150,000 miles on the original more than a decade old battery pack with ZERO degradation measurable in battery life so far.Toyota also ran one to 300,000 miles before they gave up and agreed the tech was that good.so yeah thats how I came up with that number. IE thats what is POSSIBLE for them to do TODAY with EXISTING already perfected DONE technology.GM made sure this could not happen by crushing the EV1′s and selling the battery patent to chevron via texaco and our lovely government helped them with the $100,000 hummer tax which is what GM bought (hummer) just after killing the EV1 plant.Cute ehh?
