Boom Assembly

Has anyone moved a 27 foot above ground pool, is it possible to lift the pool as a complete assembly?

I have an elderly neighbor who will give me her pool if i remove it. I have already drained and cut out the liner..It will be lifted over a 6 foot fence and placed in my yard-were next door neighbors. The move is approx. 50 feet. I have access to boom/lift trucks that will extend over the fence-for free too. I just hate to completely disassemble it for such a short move..Is this possible-anybody know?

no, it is not. above ground pools are only structurall secure because they are sitting on the ground. Not only is it dangerous to the pool structure, but any damage done can prove to be a liability later on(collapsing, etc.) I am in the pool industry, and the only way ive ever seen it done is by disassembling. Usually not even worth the money and effort to get it back together. If you decide to dis and reassemble, make sure you lay a level sandbed approximately3 inches deep, and lay down nutgrass killer to prevent it from growing through the liner(this is a must). Hope this helps. One more thing, you will probably have to replace the liner in the process, any time a pool is drained(depending on age of liner) the liner will shrink significantly. Usually wont fit back in place.
